MEET MS. MEGAN. MEGAN IS OUR 4TH. (DOG), I mean baby that we adopted. Megan is a Rat Terrier, with black and white hair. We adopted Megan from a family that raises this breed. Megan, was a "wee baby" when we brought her home to meet her sisters, Missy and Molly, and her brother Murphy. Megan, is our "weather woman". She will go nuts running around, panting, won't leave the sight of her Mommy and Daddy. for the most part, she is on target to let us know that bad weather is coming. Megan, hates to go outside in the dark and I guess she is afraid of the Boogeyman. If her siblings nor her parents she will avoid going into the dark. She is our jumper. She greets everyone with a high jump, I wonder how she would do playing with a jump rope. She doesn't have much manners, and if you pay attention to one of the "other children", she immediately is at your side. Of all of our babies, she is like a "SHARK".She will grab, gulp steal any one's food. Megan's brothers, Murphy and Murphy, enjoy teasing their sister and think that her skinny legs are drumsticks. Boys will be boys, but because Megan can jump, she often looks for a chair or some other object to get out of her brother's reach. Last year, while we were putting all of the babies to bed, we noticed Megan was missing. My husband and I called for her, no response. We decided to look out into the dark back yard. Gerry, got on his riding mower with headlights. I, with my trusty flashlight began to walk about, we have 4 acres. No sign of Megan, crying and upset, we went into the kitchen"nursery", to figure what to do. Low and behold, Megan was buried under some blankets. We now know that is still afraid of the dark, loves to hide under things such as blankets or pillows, and sometimes just like any child ignores her parents when they want her to come. Next week, I will introduce our last baby, Micki.
Sounds like cute little Megan keeps things exciting at your house! :)

ReplyDeleteJust like people, dogs each have their own personalities and quirks. That's what makes being a parent fun! Megan is a cutie!

Wow. It sounds like your baby m and m's keep you busy. It always seems strange to me how much personality animals show.
ReplyDeletePups are great companions, aren't they? Thanks so much for your comments and for becoming a follower of my blog. May God richly bless you and yours, Gloria
ReplyDeleteRose, Thank you for your comment on my blog this morning! SO TRUE! We need to concern ourselves less about what others think!
ReplyDeleteHave a pretty day,
Kristin
As you can see Megan is a beautiful dog but like many children he is afraid of the dark ... I hope the other two dogs to make him more courageous.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful day full of relaxation you want!
That Megan...I'd say she's a keeper! :D
ReplyDeleteWow Rose. I don't think I could handle 4 dogs. I had 3 at one point but even that was too much. Maybe it was because we had 2 large..Golden Retriever, and Lab and then one small, Sheltie. It's so great when someone adopts dogs. There are so many out there that need love.
ReplyDeleteHi Rose, thanks for finding me, just now getting around to following back. Finally had some beautiful weather up here so managed to get my window boxes planted yesterday.
ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgeous little dog! Love the name Megan!!
Looking forward to getting to know you :)
We over 40 gals need to stick together!
Hi Rose:-) For some reason, when I click on "comment" on your latest post, it won't open, so I had to come to your previous post! lol I'm finally returning your visit to my blog, it's been such a busy time for me outside lately, I haven't had much time on the computer. Now that I have the veggie garden and all my flowers planted and taken care of, I can spend more time on my blog and visiting:-)
ReplyDeleteI've read a few of your posts to try to get to know you better and I think we have a lot in common, especially our love of antiques! I wish I could fill my home with antique furniture but I really don't have the room so I buy antique dishes and smaller things instead! hehe
Ms. Megan has quite the character it seems and she's just adorable:-) I had a dog when I was still at home and he didn't know he was a dog, really thought he was human! lol When I got married, my husband never wanted pets so it's been 33 years of not having any pets...so, I feed stray cats:-)
I do hope you come visit me again...another thing we have in common...my middle name is Rose:-) xoxo
Hi Rose,
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, I'm unable to comment on your tree post. We're both thinking about nature and the seasons, and I thank you for brining me the trees and springtime through your writing. That was a great piece. Trees are somehow so noble and loyal.
Thanks for your comment too.
Have a great week.
xoRobyn
Thanks for sharing Megan with us. She is a real sweet heart. Our little Dott is afraid of the dark to, and so is her son, Pippin. Both are quite small and we are glad that they are careful about going outside because we have some mighty big birds of prey around here (owls mostly) that are big enough to snatch good sized rabbits, so they could snatch one of the little pooches too if they got a chance. We have put a light out back for them so that they will go out to go potty at night if they need to, and our Border Collie will often go with them, too.
ReplyDeleteWe have 3 large fenced in yards that are usually all open (back, side and front) so that the dogs can have free run of all of them. It makes me nervous sometimes if one goes out for to long at night because we have coyotes that come up pretty close to the fence, and we have seen big bobcats in the area too, not to mention the rattlesnakes.
