POSTCARDS
It's Saturday, and I thought I would share something light hearted and different. I came across some old postcards at an antique mall. Normally, these wouldn't catch my eye, BUT...I have no idea when they were printed, definitely not within this current time. I,love the colors. That's what attracted me to them at first. The words and the pictures added to my continual gaze. Now, I have to first say, not to offend anyone, I have a weight problem, and it's not an issue being thin. You can guess. You will notice two postcards with women with well built bodies (not small, not medium, not--OH! do I lie, "NO", yes pleasing plump, thats a safe comment. Times have changed. I have a sense of humour, but in my "hay days" as a younger woman, I'm not certain if I would laugh off the cards with the women. Now, being a woman of today, I cherish all that these cards offer to my sense of humour. Which card would be your favorite? You, need to be careful, you never know that one of these cards may show up in your mailbox. Have a good Saturday. Enjoy!

I have a scrapbook with old post cards that belonged to my Mother-in-law and I just love them. I think my fav of yours would have to be the first one because this (me) full bodied gal, as I call myself, is thinking about going into the pool and now I'm not so sure I should!
ReplyDeleteHi Rose, I love old postcards. I have a collection that started back in the 1950's. I will show them soon. Gerry
ReplyDeleteI love these, Rose, especially the first one. I always feel like "Nature's busting out all over," whenever I pull my jeans up and pray they will zip and then possibly even snap. Then, nature busts out.
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend!

I love these. The second one (my favorite) reminds me of me, my mother, and my aunt.
ReplyDeleteA great Saturday post.
HI ROSE,
ReplyDeleteTHESE ARE SO CUTE AND FUNNY. I LIKE THEM ALL. I LOVE TO RECEIVE POST CARDS FROM PEOPLE ON VACATION. MY SISTER MARY ALWAYS SENDS ME ONE FROM LAS VEGAS, AND MY GRANDCHILDREN SEND ME SOME FROM THEIR CAMPING TRIP EVERY YEAR, THEY CAMP IN LANCASTER, PA. (AMISH COUNTRY). TAKE CARE, RIZZI
Well, let me just say--"they don't make post cards like they used to!" LOL I like them all, but the top two are my favorites :) Thanks for the blast from the past...
ReplyDeleteHey Rose!

ReplyDeleteThose are great :) I found your blog from Beth's and thought I'd stop by. Glad I did :) I'll be back!
ReplyDeleteI love these too, Rose! Brings back a lot of memories of the funny postcards my grandmother would always send from her many trips.
ReplyDeleteI like the last one best. The one with the dogs and the reminder to write. Remember when we used to write letters and postcards? What a lost art now adays. Then again stamps are expensive and we have internest, email and thank goodness... Blogs! :-)
Thanks so much for sharing these, Rose!
HUG,
Coreen
Hi Rose! This is great. I love the old post cards! I wouldn't use the term a "weight problem", though....I'd say something like "I'm height challenged. My height isn't tall enough to complement my weight!" :D
ReplyDeletePS...Same goes for me!
Hello, Rose!! Thanks for visiting my blog!
ReplyDeleteI always say, "I am just fluffy"!
LOL!
Debbie
The post cards are priceless...love them all. But my favorite is the first one! I have been trying to lose a few lbs. and it is so hard now that I'm at "my age." So easy to find, but so hard to lose!
ReplyDeleteI just realized I hadn't signed up to be a follower of your blog!!! Where has my brain been lately? I am a follower now!
ReplyDeleteThose are so cute Rose! But you are right, they would probably be banned today! I love them! xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteI love old postcards! That first one is a hoot!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThese are such cute post cards.. All of have a day when we feel like we're busting out all over. Nother nature hust gave some of us more than we needed and others..not enough.
ReplyDeleteWhat great finds those cards are Rose! I would have bought them too. I especially like the three big-boned gals! I have a weight issue, but I take no offense to these cards. I accept myself the way I am. Most days!
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday!
Carol
Oh how fun. Don't you just old post cards? They had so much charm back then.
ReplyDeleteDear Rose, How special are these postcards, simply wonderful! Very enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteHi Rose!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun find! These are just too cute. love all of them.
Oh my! Those are too cute! I love going through old postcards at local thrift stores. Some of them are so much more creative than anything you an buy today.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Those postcards are great Rose!! How funny! BTW..you were asking about Project 365...I am still trying to find out about it myself...but I have started one... http://jonesproject365.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeletebasically...you take a picture a day from your life..and post it... it is a way to capture what has happened in your life for one year..and also improve your photo skills at the same time... Hope you had a great weekend!
Oh Rose...you made my day. These are sweet. I like the one that tells us all that Nature is busting out all over. That's so me. And, honestly, I really don't care. I like being the way I am. As with most ladies and their obsession with weight...I don't worry as long as I'm healthy. Pleasingly plump as you say.
ReplyDeleteExcellent share. Enjoy your Monday.
They are all cute....remember how fun it was to get one when friends were away on vacation ?
ReplyDeleteI am always attracted to postcards and book covers by the artwork. These are great finds. Thanks for sharing them.
ReplyDeleteHello Rose! Hope you're having a terrific day!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun postcards! We do appreciate things more later on don't we!
I always appreciate it when you stop by,
God Bless,
Kathy
Those are adorable! I liked the first one! Thought it was funny even tho I'm more than a little plump myself!
