As you say, though, hopefully the roots won't find their way into your foundation!! We have mostly pine and spruce trees in our yard...we used to have 2 birch trees but cut those down years ago because of the roots. To me, a yard is not a yard unless you have trees in it:-) xoxoCarole Buranthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05497329055251626140noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7085959616044196804.post-88005642219015391912010-06-16T09:23:39.991-04:002010-06-16T09:23:39.991-04:00Good morning! My son is a huge fan of the Dubliners, and wants desperately to open an Irish-style pub some day with all the traditional foods! Soda bread sounds so plain, but it is surprisingly addictive ... :)

foodfloozie.blogspot.comYenta Maryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06573241381406620036noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7085959616044196804.post-23520227401445883762010-06-16T05:26:14.844-04:002010-06-16T05:26:14.844-04:00Wow, that is one huge tree! We had a scare a couple of years ago when most of Tulsa lost power during an ice storm due to tree breakage. Once the ice was gone we cut ours way back and chopped one down completely. Still find broken branches after every thunderstorm.Beth Zimmermanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07047047792782914757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7085959616044196804.post-46051819066824133942010-06-15T12:18:19.129-04:002010-06-15T12:18:19.129-04:00I have some large trees in my yard here that I am ...I have some large trees in my yard here that I am so afraid are going to fall on my house should we get a hurricane.
JoyceJoycehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14023307609205834495noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7085959616044196804.post-23444552657936549572010-06-15T09:42:42.074-04:002010-06-15T09:42:42.074-04:00HI ROSE, THANKS FOR STOPPING BY. I had an old live oak in my yard that was over 100 years old at our very first house. We loved that tree! I still think about it sometimes. It was huge and draped in spanish moss. I hope your tree last for a long time, too.

Have a great day!
AdrienneThe Flying Beehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12681996716146900700noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7085959616044196804.post-11839113695867406392010-06-15T05:31:42.043-04:002010-06-15T05:31:42.043-04:00Yes, it is a beautiful tree, and I, too, hope that...Yes, it is a beautiful tree, and I, too, hope that it lasts another 100 years.
